Origin & History

Ketchup chips appeared by the 1970s. Their Canadian introduction is usually credited to Hostess Potato Chips, which experimented with new flavours in the early 1970s. They are available in almost every Canadian grocery store. Supply in the United States is limited: Old Dutch stopped selling them there, and Frito-Lay doesn’t sell its ketchup chips in the US. Walkers made a Heinz-partnered ketchup crisp in the UK from 2001.
